Kulibin Special Economic Zone. RusSilika LLC has completed the pilot operation of the plant and reached its design capacity for finished product output

In September 2025, RusSilika Company completed construction and installation works, as well as the installation of the main process equipment for the first phase of the production site in the Kulibin Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Starting from October 2025, pilot production operations were launched to fine-tune production and technological processes, and these works were completed in May 2026. The new facility features modern production technologies, including process automation and quality control systems, which will ensure high efficiency and competitiveness of the products in both the domestic and global markets.

ARCO® Company, as part of the General Designer's field supervision, is supporting the capacity commissioning process and the plant's ramp-up to design production volumes of finished goods.

The RusSilika enterprise is the only Russian manufacturer of micronized silica gels in industrial volumes. The company's products are included in the import substitution action plan for the chemical industry of the Russian Federation.

The development of the domestic raw material base is impossible without close cooperation between material developers and industrial enterprises. Collaboration among market participants helps accelerate the adoption of new technologies, reduce product time-to-market, and form sustainable domestic production chains. One of the key drivers of market development is the shift from a raw material supply model to a technology partnership format.

"I would particularly like to note that, up to this point, silica gel has not been produced in industrial volumes in Russia. As such, the plant is fully covered by demand. Moreover, the product demonstrates significant export potential, which is why an investment decision has already been made to further expand production. I am confident that with the support of the federal Government and the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, all plans will be implemented. This fully meets the objective of achieving technological sovereignty in the chemical industry," said First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov at the launch ceremony of the new production facility.

The total investment in the project amounted to 21 billion, and over 200 jobs have been created.
